Functional Screening for Senior Citizens

Functional Screening for Senior Citizens

With the rising emphasis on enhancing social and health support for senior citizens, SSA has been working closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Agency of Integrated Care (AIC) on a series of community projects benefitting senior citizens.

On 5 December 2018, SSA in collaboration with AIC, conducted functional screening for SSA senior citizens aged 60 years and above at the SSA Headquarters. A total of 111 senior citizens completed the functional screening that consist of simple checks for hearing, sight and oral wellness.

To encourage senior citizens to stay active, a one-hour stretch band exercise was also conducted by an appointed HPB fitness instructor, where the seniors citizens were taught basic stretching exercises that help to increase finesse.
