21 Feb 2020 Peace Proposal 2020
In his latest annual peace proposal “Toward Our Shared Future: Constructing an Era of Human Solidarity” issued to the United Nations on 26 January 2020, SGI President Ikeda outlined the key elements required to forge a robust solidarity of action from the perspective of three commitments.
1. Leave No One Behind -Never leave behind those struggling in difficult circumstances.
2. The importance of taking joint and constructive action rather than just communicating a shared sense of crisis; and
3. To make the next 10 years a decade of climate action by young people as an integral element of the recently launched UN Decade of Action to deliver the SDGs by 2030.
He also offered concrete proposals in four main areas that will contribute to the creation of a sustainable global society where all can live with dignity and a sense of security.
