03 Sep 2006 Showing Care at “Tulip Heart Day”
“Tulip Heart Day” is an annual fundraising event organised by Children’s Cabcer Foundation (CCF). It aims to help children under the age of 17 who are suffering from cancer.
On September 3, stalks of colourful handmade silk-cocooned tulips were sold at $2 each island-wide. Participating in this meaningful event were some ten members of the Soka Volunteer Group (SVG) who offered their services at the collection point at Revenue House.
[Since 1996, the CCF has helped some 1,200 families by providing free counselling, conducting support groups, organising children and family outings, offering financial assistance, educating families, supporting training and research, and promoting public awareness.]
