SSA Supports White Ribbon Campaign Non-Violence Against Women

White ribbon-2 About 40 Women Division and Soka Volunteer Group members made 10,000 white ribbons for the White Ribbon Campaign 2005. They also helped in the distribution of the ribbons in the heartlands over two days (November 24 & 25), spreading the message of non-violence against women.

The event was organized by the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), and sponsored by the Ministry of community Development, Youth and Sports, with supporting partners such as National Youth Council and some local schools, as an effort to stop violence against women.

The opening ceremony on November 25 was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Zainudin Nordin, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh Grassroots Residents’ Committee at the Toa Payoh Bus Interchange.
